Newsletter

Welcome to Atelier House UK's first newsletter.

We wanted to bring out a friendly update on different work we have been doing in our studios in the hope it might be inspiring or interesting to read. We are always more than happy to send over further reference pictures or descriptions about our work if requested.

In light of our working relationships with our B2B clients, please note that our newsletter will never include any reference or information regarding that side of our work - Just work we carry out directly with our own customers (B2C).

BESPOKE - SHEAR CORSET STRUCTURE

BESPOKE DRESSMAKING SERVICE

We have recently found a lot of ladies looking for a sheer bodice effect with delicate detailing - but combined with lovely, corseted structure.  Both ladies pictured started their dresses with nude tulle corsets lengthened down over the hips to give a real figure-hugging shape. The top picture in blue then had delicate hand pleating in P58-ICEBLUE POLY CHIFFON from Michael's Bridal Fabrics. The second design we then hand appliqued Black Embroidered Lace -Greer from Platinum Bridal Lace.

Made of 4 layers of different tulles to give both stretch and structure. These bodices gave a nude effect but were still able to be eyeletted at the back for a complete corset, creating a delicate but effective.

We have been asked recently by different brides for a fabric alternative for veils instead of using tulle. Both for coverage but also for more of a structured look. We have been looking into different options with one currently using a beautiful Crepe de Chine found on Goldhawk Road to completely cover her hair for religious reasons.

Obviously when designing you would need to bare in mind that if you would like a classic 3m wide veil, then a seam may need to be added down the centre back. The edging needs to also be considered as different fabrics will fray unlike tulle, but the result can still be beautiful.
